Mira Kopanarovmore, Artist

Writer: Brad Hutchinson Brad Hutchinson

Mira Kopanarov is a Bulgarian-Canadian artist and communications specialist, with a wealth of experience spanning over two decades. With an HBA in Communication Studies from York University and numerous certifications in transformative leadership, marketing, and communications, Mira has developed a multifaceted career encompassing government, non-profit sectors, real estate, and innovative fields like AI and mixed reality. As a serial entrepreneur, she has led numerous complex projects, demonstrating her versatility and innovative spirit.

Four years ago, following a personal journey through burnout, Mira pivoted her practice towards the transformative power of holistic communications for social change. This shift aimed at creating a nurturing environment for individuals and communities experiencing the consequences of the "burnout economy" and trauma. Utilizing guided breathwork coaching, mindfulness, and storytelling, Mira addresses issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, imposter syndrome, PTSD, and a lack of self-love and compassion. Her experiences lend her a unique empathy and insight, driving her commitment to offering a safe, healing space for those seeking support.

After extensive research and practice, Mira is spearheading a program to integrate mindful communications within business and corporate environments. This program, which aligns with ESG practices, aims to create an inclusive environment, improve employee mental health, and emphasizes empathy and human connectedness for lasting social and economic impact. Being part of a larger government project as a consultant for inclusive design for employment access gives Mira's work on mindful communications the social urgency relevant to all people and sectors.

Mira also leads transformative nature-inspired breathwork retreats for small groups focused on integration and sustainable mental health practices for long-term well-being. Two of the locations are a water-access eco-cabin at Pointe au Baril, Ontario and an eco mountain yurt village in Bulgaria. Both locations have been reconciled with local history and picked for their natural healing properties.

Through her invigorating art practice, Mira actively advocates for social causes. She supports programs and charities for children suffering from abuse, orphanages and foster programs, initiatives combating homelessness, and focused environmental advocacy. She is an international ambassador for Bulgarian culture and innovation and preserves and promotes the Bulgarian heritage with her visual and storytelling art through inspiring projects. She believes that by connecting with the roots and loving-kindness within, we are empowered to embrace our larger human connectedness and belonging.
