BRAD HUTCHINSON

The Mindfulness Expert

Brad’s life has been shaped by storms — and by the strength, discipline, and grace required to move through them.

A two-time cancer survivor, Brad knows what it means to face fear, uncertainty, pain, and the deep inner work of rebuilding. His journey has not been about avoiding hardship, but learning how to transform it. Through each chapter, he has discovered that healing is not simply about surviving the storm — it is about learning how to move with life again, with purpose, presence, and flow.

A lifelong martial artist, Brad’s path has been deeply influenced by Kung Fu, discipline, and the wisdom of traditional training. Over the years, he has had the privilege of learning from world-renowned martial artists, including Shaolin monks, whose teachings helped shape not only his physical practice, but his philosophy of resilience, humility, focus, and inner balance. For Brad, martial arts has never been just about technique. It has been a path of transformation — a way to turn struggle into strength, chaos into clarity, and pain into purpose.

Brad has also dedicated much of his life to helping others move through their own storms. Through his work with trauma transformation at The Gatehouse, as well as his involvement in suicide intervention, he has supported people in some of their most vulnerable moments. His approach is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and the belief that every person deserves to be met with dignity, safety, and hope.

At the heart of Brad’s work are his family values. Family, community, service, and integrity are the foundation of everything he does. Whether he is teaching, writing, mentoring, speaking, or serving others, Brad leads with the belief that healing begins through connection — to ourselves, to one another, and to something greater than the pain we have endured.

As an author, community advocate, martial artist, survivor, and guide, Brad brings together lived experience and practical wisdom to help others find strength in their story. His work is an invitation to move from survival to self-mastery, from trauma to transformation, and from storm to flow.

Brad’s message is simple but powerful: no matter how fierce the storm, there is a path forward. And with courage, discipline, support, and heart, it is possible not only to survive — but to rise, serve, and flow.
